“The Dewey Decimator” Lawrence’s first literary derby car! IN BRIEF: “The Dewey Decimator” is on a mission to smash cars while promoting literacy and the arts in Lawrence, Kansas. Sponsored by Lawrence Public Library and Lawrence Magazine, “Dewey” is set to compete in the 2014 Douglas County Fair Demolition Derby. EVENTS: a) PAINT DEWEY – Lawrence artists Jason & Lana Grove, Darin & Shannon White a) lead groups of teens in painting a design for the derby car and the derby car drivers.
